Some shots from February through September of 1956. Enjoy!
This is how to have fun in winter! Snowballs, snowmen, and a well-deserved nap. Enjoy!
The last post of 2016, and the last of my Christmas photos. Happy New Year, everyone.
Enjoy! Merry Christmas, everyone!
Today, we have some Christmas photos from 1954. John sent me this remembrance of the Admiral TV in the background of some of the shots. John - correct me if I'm wrong here. You said to keep an eye out for a tv in the background of some of these photos, I'm assuming these are them! John says: "The spring loaded door on the front of our Admiral TV, which covered the Horizontal, Vertical, Brightness and Focus, is where I kept my piece of cotton which I held between my index finger and nose, as I sucked my thumb watching my favorite shows on TV. Kukla Fran and Ollie, one of my favorites. That would be '51, '52. We did not have a lot of money, back then, and by rights, not anywhere near enough to afford a TV, but one of my Dad's good buddies who wasn't in the War for medical reasons (Johnnie Compo), so liked my Father who was still feeling the affects of his injuries from the War, His friend, Johnnie, who learned TV repair, gave it to my father for practically nothing. I had witnessed the TV entering the house, and Johnnie hugging my father, but it wasn't until now my full memory came out. My Dad was liked immensely by Jake, Sharky Durso, and Johnnie And Andy Compo, (who were both pretty good boxers in their day). I think only Jake had gone in, but only towards the end of the War." Christmas 1953!
I took a guess on the first photo. Originally there was no date, but someone did write in 1953 so I'm going with it. ;-) Enjoy! Merry Christmas!
Here we have some photos of John, Armand & Carmel, as well as the Scali family, and Theresa and Antoinette. Please feel free to share memories about the toys you received that year, if they were good ones! Joey, did you get a tiny register? And John, is that a windmill?? Enjoy! Rosellen!
Was this Communion day? May crowning? Easter? Let us know what the occasion was for this pretty gown. Did little sister Idie get one too, since we know how she coveted your dresses! ;) |
