More wonderful photos of the family, featuring Antonetta, Rose, Olga, Theresa, Edmund and Roberta. This is the last set of photographs I have of Edmund visiting with the family, perhaps his last visit before his disappearance in September of 1944. If it was, it seemed to be a happy one.

George writes: "Upon further examination and reflection, Rosellen is right! This is not Antonetta but her sister Anna, and her husband Giovanni Popolizio (known to us as "Zi Gianni"). They appear to be in front of their house on Richard Street ( I recognize the roof over the porch) across from St Rose's School. No doubt. By the way, they had 10 children: Mary, Alfred, Anthony, Anna, Lena, Horace, Stephan, Helen, Joseph and Rita." I LOVE A GOOD MYSTERY SOLVED! THANKS EVERYONE FOR YOUR HELP! Click on "comments" above to add your thoughts and/or memories! Today is Armand's birthday. He is the reason why we have these photographs, documents, letters, and wonderful remembrances of our family. To celebrate his life, this week each post will feature Armand. Below, are some photos of Armand and his buddy Collie Zucharelli in NYC, 1948. I love thinking about these two strutting down 42nd Street - how could you do ANYTHING but strut in those suits? Armand loved New York, and one of his favorite songs to sing was Give My Regards To Broadway. "Give my regards to Broadway Remember me to Herald Square Tell all the gang at Forty-Second Street That I will soon be there Whisper of how I'm yearning To mingle with the old-time throng Give my regards to Old Broadway And say that I'll be there, 'ere long" ~George M. Cohan I hum it now sometimes when I walk near Herald Square. I think of Armand, and his love of the Yankees and this special city that is like no other in the world. And here's an extra...
Here, we have a great example of Armand's sense of humor. I'm skipping forward in time a little bit - most of the photos posted on the blog have been from the 20's - 40's... but in honor of his birthday I had to post something that would have made him smile. This is his "bank picture", probably for an ID card, taken in 1957. The lettering is his own... A lovely photo of these two. What I wouldn't give for Ida's dress!
